The Day of the Clever Trip
(A fun, easy story for kids learning English – with vocabulary, homonyms, and word highlights)
In a small forest, there lived a kind little fox named Fina. She had neat fur and a bright red tail. Fina loved to collect shiny rocks and pretend they were treasure. She always felt proud of her collection.
One sunny spring morning, Fina planned a trip to the big well in the forest to find new rocks. She packed her light bag, held her map, and began to walk.
Suddenly, she heard a loud bark!
It was her friend, Bert the bear, playing with his ball.
“Can I join your trip?” Bert asked.
“Of course!” Fina replied with a smile. “But don’t trip on the tree
roots!”
They walked together and talked along the way. After some time, Bert felt tired.
“I need to rest,” he said.
“You tire easily,” Fina joked kindly.
Bert laughed. “Yes, but I try my best.”
“I see an animal in the well!” she said.
“That is your reflection,” Bert explained. “It’s only you.
They began to collect shiny stones. Fina found a ring made of vines. Bert found a rock that looked like a turtle.
“Let’s decorate our room with these!” Fina said.
On the way back, Bert said, “This was such a cool day!”
“I agree,” said Fina. “I’m not bored anymore!”
But suddenly... SPLASH!
Bert had stepped into a puddle.
Oh no! My feet are wet,” he said sadly.
“Don’t worry,” said Fina kindly. “We will clean them later.”
They finally reached home. Fina felt happy. She had discovered new things, used her map, and spent the day with a friend.

The Empty Pot
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a kind emperor who loved flowers. He was old and had no children. So, he decided to find the next emperor in a very unusual way.
He called all the children in the kingdom and gave each one a flower seed.
“Take care of it,” he said, “and bring your flower to me in one year. The child with the best flower will be the next emperor!”
All the children ran home, excited. One of them was a boy named Ping. He planted the seed, gave it sunlight, and watered it every day.
But nothing grew.
Ping changed the soil, used a new pot, and cared for the seed with love. Still, no flower.
After one year, all the children brought colorful, blooming flowers. Ping came with an empty pot.
He felt ashamed, but he told the truth.
The emperor smiled. “All the seeds I gave were boiled and could not grow.
